Job Summary
Belden’s Analyst, Marketing Operations plays a critical role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our marketing efforts. This role will report to the Sr. Director, Marketing Operations and be part of a newly formed Corporate Marketing Operations team, which serves as a meta-function enabling both global and regional marketing teams. Well-qualified candidates will have a proven track record of aggregating and interpreting data from global regions, industries, campaigns and disparate sources into strategic insights that empower informed decision-making by stakeholders.
This individual will be responsible for providing data-driven insights across all marketing channels, managing key operational processes and ensuring our marketing investments are strategically aligned and delivering maximum impact. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented and possesses a strong understanding of marketing principles. The role will be responsible for data storytelling across the marketing and leadership team.
You’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Performance Analysis & Insights:
- Manage, analyze and report on reach among target markets and audiences, lead progression, campaign activities, marketing attribution to funnel and ultimate impact on business growth.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of digital performance, identifying trends, user behavior and opportunities for optimization.
- Evaluate email marketing campaign performance, providing insights on deliverability, open rates, click-through rates and conversion.
- Analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and advertising initiatives across various platforms, measuring ROI and identifying areas for improvement.
- Integrate insights from brand equity and Voice of Customer (VoC) studies with other marketing data to provide a comprehensive view of brand health and customer perception.
- Synthesize performance data from all channels to provide holistic insights into marketing effectiveness and inform future strategies.
- Present the data as well as insightful hypotheses on the story that the data tells and how teams might leverage in decision-making and future strategies.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Manage and track the marketing budget, monitoring spend against allocated funds and identifying potential discrepancies.
- Provide regular reports on marketing expenditure and budget adherence.
Reporting & KPI Management:
- Collaborate closely with regional marketing teams to define and implement global dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain and manage quarterly global marketing performance reports and dashboards that effectively cascade to regional targets, enabling consistent measurement and supporting localized analysis.
- Track and report on KPIs to measure the success of marketing initiatives and overall departmental goals.
Operational Efficiency & Capacity Planning:
- Analyze current marketing projects and team capacity to identify bottlenecks, optimize workflows and improve project velocity.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance team efficiency and resource allocation.
- Ensure marketing systems and tools support marketing budget management, reporting and analysis in a way that integrates with finance team processes and requirements.
Vendor & Agency Logistics:
- Manage the logistics and transactional aspects of relationships with marketing vendors and agencies, including contract tracking, invoicing and performance monitoring.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed on industry best practices, emerging technologies and trends in marketing analytics and operations.
- Explore advancement in AI and data governance, including how to leverage AI to improve marketing data analysis and attribution models.
- Support the adoption and effective use of marketing technology platforms across the team.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Data Analytics or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience within data analytics, preferably marketing data and performance.
- Technical and analytical proficiency, with experience in dashboard development, various reporting formats and tools.
- Experience marrying data from disparate systems to create holistic, closed loop reporting on marketing activities.
- Proficiency in full funnel attribution best practices, with experience reporting on target segment penetration, lead and campaign flow, lead attribution, marketing funnel (including pipeline and revenue attribution).
- Ability to collaborate with peers to present insights and marketing performance to various stakeholders using data storytelling.
- Marketing-related certifications and system experience, such as Salesforce (Pardot), Account-based Marketing (6Sense), Google Analytics and other certifications.
- Experience managing operational budgets
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $85,200- $127,800 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
