Belden’s US Internship Program offers current students an opportunity to work on important business projects, collaborate with experienced managers and deliver real results for the organization. Over 12 weeks, you will gain hands-on experience crafting business solutions while developing project management skills, interpersonal skills, and function-specific knowledge.

As a member of our 2027 US Internship Program, you’ll be fully immersed in a global team of experts eager to teach and learn from you along the way. These fast-paced, project-based internship positions are ideal for students who are interested in developing themselves professionally, while also making a substantial contribution to the company. You’ll work towards goals, deliver results, and present to business leaders.

 

Belden's R&D teams are where curiosity becomes reality, spanning distinct engineering paths across physical infrastructure and intelligent software. Hardware and connectivity engineers focus on the physical products that carry data across factories, data centers, and broadband networks, working in areas like fiber optics, copper cable, mechanical design, and lab validation.

 

This R&D Cable internship offers technical, hands-on opportunities to work in our Engineering facility in Richmond, IN. 

 

How you can add value within the R&D Cable function: 

  • Perform various tests and studies associated with specific projects or products to identify and resolve inconsistencies or areas of opportunity  
  • Execute various simulations 
  • Develop Design of Experiment (DOE) to determine optimal situations for studies 
  • Develop test methods, write procedure, and train technicians on new procedures 
  • Assist laboratory technicians to aid in product engineering projects 

 

Successful Innovation Intern candidates will offer:

  • Current enrollment with pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field of study
  • Technical internship or work experience in hands-on laboratory or testing environments, strong technical curiosity, and cable design exposure (prefer)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities  
  • High learning agility, a drive to take initiative, accountability, and a bias for action  
  • Willingness to relocate for rotational assignments, authorization to work in the country of employment

Applicants can expect a compensation range of $27-30/hour. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicants experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
