Job Purpose - Summary

As member of Belden’s Technical Solutions & Services Team, the Solution Consultant (SC) is responsible for developing Data Orchestration & Management and Cyber Security Solutions. The Solution Consultant is responsible for assisting Clients Orchestrate, Manage Protect data spanning sensor to cloud.  Solutions are developed from Belden’s extensive suite of Layer 2 / 3 products, Edge Products, Firewall Appliances and suite of Data and Network protection Software.  Complimentary capabilities from Partners and Third Party Vendors may also be recommended and integrated into solutions to enhance client defined business outcomes.  The SC references work done by Belden’s Solution Sales Managers and Digital Automation Consultants, as well as data obtained in Network and Cyber Risk Assessments to define Customer Challenges resolved through implementation of Netoworking or Automation Solutions.  The SC leads the Solution Design Specification (SDS) process with the client; with the SDS serving as a blueprint for Proof-of-Concept demonstration of the Solution and Belden’s Capabilities.  PoC’s are generally conducted at customer sites, or within one of Belden’s Customer Innovation Center Validation Labs (CIC) or remotely in test labs.  Successful PoC’s demonstrate operational or financial impact to client business, and secure commitment to deploy the solution to improve stated customer challenges.  Upon customer acceptance of design and value of the solution, the SC is responsible for advising Commercial Operations and PMO Teams on their Scope and Design, and successful handoff to Belden’s execution functions.  The solution consultant is a technical partner to other business functions, providing insights on Customer Trends, Product or Capability Gaps, Qualified Firms engaged in Software and Appliance Deployment and Commission required to deliver Successful Customer Outcomes. The solution consultant relies on technical competencies first and utilizes vertical specific experience to acknowledge and solve vertical specific challenges.  The SC’s rich experience developing and implementing Network , Automation and Cyber Security Solutions will accelerate the credibility of Belden as a solution provider for Networking & Data Security Solutions.  Successful candidates will facilitate collaboration, teamwork, and communication, acting as the pivot point among the internal and external participants of a project opportunity.  The  Solution Consultant will leverage Commercial Team engagements in existing client accounts, Professional Services Engineers assessing Cyber Security Risk, as well as organic customer engagement across a broad variety of customer segments, with particular focus to OT and IT networks within Material Handling, Power Transmission & Distribution Systems, Discrete Manufacturing, and Mass Transit

 

 Job Accountabilities (Remote only position)

  • Utilize Belden’s Solutions Portfolio and Personal Expertise in DOM, Cyber and Data Protection strategy to develop robust Solutions solving customer challenges that achieve Value at Stake
  • Partner with other Solution Consultant Peers, Solution Line Managers and Solution Architects to narrowly define the Solutions targeting Use Cases within defined verticals; Develop Network and Cyber Security Solutions and required products, services and partners required to execute each.
  • Strategically engage with Solution Architects and Solution Consultants to bolster competencies, capabilities and strategy to place Cyber Products and Associated Services within Solution Design Proposals – all through virtual collaboration and remote enablement tools
  • Navigate Customer Challenges and Build Solutions that enable successful customer outcomes in a remote engagement model
  • Lead and manage the development of solutions that utilize a One Belden approach; Incorporate third party or eco-partner products as required and necessary via virtual coordination
  • Define scope of services (Belden Provided or 3rd Party) for customer applications in collaboration with the TSS, leveraging remote tools and platforms
  • Partner with TSS counterparts to translate customer requirements and problem statements into compelling technical solutions with demonstrable financial value impact – conducted via remote interactions
  • Collaborate with Customer Innovation Center Solution Support team to conduct POCs (Proof of Concepts) remotely, utilizing virtual lab environments where applicable
  • Provide successful transition from Design Acceptance / POC to Execution Phase with CommOps and PMO Functions, ensuring continuity via remote handover processes
  • Support and drive technical sales and solutions for customer applications by providing the technical leadership influence in assigned vertical market, through digital platforms
  • Maintain competence with ALL Belden products within the Data Orchestration and Management Portfolio via continuous remote learning and training
  • Provide technical content to marketing for inclusion in marketing materials, collaterals and solutions guides – coordinated through remote collaboration
  • Provide supporting documentation for application notes, “how to” videos, quick start guides, or case studies in a fully virtual format
  • Maintain customer reporting, designs and other artifacts using prescribed tools and systems accessible remotely
  • Provide market feedback to product management teams to drive product development through virtual communication channels
  • Participate in virtual customer engagements and remote professional development activities (no travel required)

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience Designing, or Consulting On Layer 2, 3 Switching and / or Wireless Networks), and End Point or Critical Data Protection. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering with a focus on Networking and Ethernet based communications
  • Preferred network Credentials like CISSP, CISM, CIASA, HIPAA, CCSP, CHISPP, HCISPP, PCI DSS, Cisco Cyber Ops, GIAC, CSSA, ISA/IEC 62443, GCIP, CMMC, NERC SIP
  • Experience working with cross functional teams, including Solution Architects, Solution Line Management, Product Development, Automation Consultants, Sales, Marketing or Product Development
  • Experience in Cloud, Edge and Hybrid Connectivity preferred
  • Previous consulting experience is preferred
