Belden is seeking a highly organized and adaptable Customer Innovation Center (CIC) & Office Manager to serve as the operational lead of our Customer Innovation Center (CIC) and broader office environment in Chicago, IL. This role is critical to ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, delivering a polished experience for customers and guests, and supporting key internal initiatives. This is an onsite position.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of office operations, ensuring a productive, organized, and efficient work environment while supporting business objectives and needs.
  • Open and prepare the office ahead of employee and customer arrival, including operating and maintaining kitchen area.
  • Ensure all conference and meeting rooms are clean, properly set up, and AV-ready; manage room readiness through the designated SharePoint intake form.
  • Coordinate catering / events for customer visits and internal meetings, including ordering, payment processing and receiving deliveries.
  • Manage all packaging, shipping and mail handling for the office.
  • Support office, assisting with logistics and coordination as needed.
  • Assist with coordinating internal events, communications, and activities.
  • Process and track invoices and bill payments.
  • Lead facility vendor management across contracts, financial processes, vendor relationships and daily operational needs.
  • Cultivate a positive workplace environment by leading employee engagement activities.

 

Key skills and qualifications

  • Adaptability & Flexibility Comfortable pivoting quickly between tasks and shifting priorities without losing attention to detail
  • Multitasking Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent responsibilities across CIC operations, facilities, and administration
  • Reliability & Punctuality Consistently arrives before customers and guests to ensure the space is fully prepared
  • Organization Strong ability to track room bookings, catering orders, shipments, and administrative tasks simultaneously
  • Communication Clear and professional communicator with both internal teams and external vendors/contractors
  • Tech Proficiency Comfortable using SharePoint, Microsoft Office and other standard business tools for coordination and tracking
  • Vendor & Logistics Coordination Experience managing deliveries, catering vendors, and contractor scheduling
  • Customer-Facing Presence Professional demeanor and a hospitality mindset when the office is hosting customers and guests
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing 30 pounds or more.

 

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $75,000 - $95,000 annually (paid hourly), plus benefits.  This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
