We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Facility Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations within our Belden Cobourg manufacturing facility. This senior-level role is responsible for ensuring optimal equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, maintaining infrastructure integrity, and leading a high-performing maintenance team.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership ability and strategic planning skills to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of production machinery, electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, and facility infrastructure
- Maximize equipment uptime and ensure operational reliability
- Respond to and manage emergency breakdowns and critical repairs
Maintenance Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- Utilize CMMS software to track work orders, asset history, and maintenance performance metrics
- Lead root cause analysis efforts to prevent recurring equipment failures
- Manage CAPEX and OPEX projects to maintain the facility
Team Management
- Hire, train, mentor, and supervise maintenance tradesmen and support the Maintenance Supervisor/Planner.
- Manage shift schedules and overtime to ensure production coverage as needed
- Administer our union CBA within our unionize environment
Budget & Resource Management
- Help prepare and manage the maintenance department budget
- Control costs while maintaining high operational standards
- Manage spare parts inventory and identify cost-saving opportunities
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Maintain adherence to environmental standards and building codes
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Salaried member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee
Vendor & Contractor Oversight
- Negotiate and manage contracts with external service providers
- Coordinate specialized repairs and facility service projects
- Manage 3rd party services for the plant that include HVAC, Security, Dock systems, Fire Systems, etc..
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred
- Equivalent technical education and extensive vocational experience may be considered
Experience
- Proven experience managing maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in industrial machinery, electrical systems, and mechanical systems
- Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
- Budget planning and cost-control expertise
- Proficiency with CMMS systems
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Facilities Manager (CFM)
- Facility Management Professional (FMP)
- Other relevant technical certifications
SALARY RANGE
$110,000 TO $130,000CAD
