Director of Engineering: Connectivity & Industrial Solutions

Your Impact:

As the Director of Engineering, you will serve as a leader of leaders, driving the technical vision and execution for Belden’s mission-critical connectivity portfolio. You will spearhead the development of advanced wireless systems, operating systems, and industrial protocols that facilitate OT/IT convergence. By leading a globally distributed engineering organization (100+ Engineers), you will ensure the delivery of high-performance, secure, and scalable solutions that power the next generation of Industry 4.0 , Mobility and Edge Computing.

Your responsibilities:

Strategic Technical Leadership & Ownership:

• Core Stack Development: Own the on-time and on-quality development of wireless, I/O, and protocol stacks along with the cybersecurity devices and applications
• System Software Execution: Lead the engineering delivery of the Operating System (OS), firewall, and system-level software
• Drive OT/IT Convergence: Oversee the development of integrated technology stacks that bridge the gap between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT).
• Platform & OS Innovation: Direct the evolution of industrial-grade operating systems and software platforms that support edge computing and real-time data processing.

Global Engineering Excellence

• • Talent & Capacity Strategy: Own the talent strategy, capacity planning, and resource allocation across Germany, Switzerland, USA, and India
  • Operational R&D Leadership: Provide mentorship and strategic direction to engineering managers and principals
  • Budgeting & ROI: Participate in strategic and tactical budgeting exercises as a member of the R&D leadership team.
  • Development Methodologies: Enable R&D Engineering with capability analyses, selection and deployment of the right development methods (Agile/Scaled Agile).

Experience and background:

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, with at least 5 years managing managers in a global B2B industrial environment.
• Domain Expertise: Proven track record in developing wireless systems, industrial connectivity products
• International Reach: Extensive experience managing cross-functional teams across EMEA, North America, and APAC
