Job Summary:
Belden is seeking an entry-level engineer in our Bakersfield office to contribute to our test engineering and development efforts. We develop a diverse portfolio of in-chassis, gateway and edge products for the automation industry, using and implementing industrial network protocols, and integrate tightly with Rockwell Automation and other PLCs. The Engineer will be a collaborator with a team of dedicated engineers, as well as work with other engineering teams at Belden that are building advanced integrated solutions.
What you will do:
Our engineer will learn how our products work via hands-on work with the products. They will help identify issues and help solve them. We need our engineers to be versatile, self-starters, and enthusiastic to take on new problems. This person will begin in test engineering. Depending upon ones aptitude and goals, expect responsibilities to include test automation or software engineering / development responsibilities.This person needs to be a detail-oriented, technically skilled person, with a willingness to learn and eagerness to understand how things work.
- Setup industrial networks with ProSoft modules and other devices. Test to ensure communication between devices.
- Collaborate with other engineers to solve technical problems.
- Replicate and isolate reported issues and support the development team by validating fixes.
- Grow in role to include test automation work and/or software engineering work.
What you will bring:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science major or equivalent
- Coursework in Computer Networks, Linux OS, C/C++, python programming
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and motivation to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work Location
In person in Bakersfield, CA office and may transition to hybrid
Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $71,800 - $107,700 plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
