Job Summary
The Director People, India will serve as the strategic HR business partner for all operations within India, including manufacturing plants, commercial offices, Innovation offices and corporate functions. This role will be responsible for leading the HR agenda to enable business growth, drive organizational effectiveness, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure compliance with all labor and statutory requirements. The Director People will oversee the full spectrum of HR functions, including talent management, employee relations, organizational development, rewards, and workforce planning.
You will make an impact in the following way:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement regional HR strategies that support Belden’s business objectives and transformation initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to regional business leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and leadership development.
- Lead critical change initiatives—including cross-border mobility, future workforce design, and M&A integration—ensuring seamless transitions, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
Talent & Organizational Development:
- Drive talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent across diverse markets.
- Champion Belden’s leadership development programs and succession planning efforts.
- Promote a high-performance culture through effective performance management and career development frameworks.
Employee Experience & Engagement:
- Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, inclusion, and well-being across India.
- Address disparities in employee experience through targeted programs and focus groups.
- Ensure consistent application of Belden’s employee value proposition across all locations.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure HR practices comply with local labor laws, regulatory requirements, and Belden’s global policies.
- Manage sensitive employee relations matters, investigations, and disciplinary actions with integrity and discretion.
- Oversee employment transitions and contract structures to support domestic and international transactions.
Operational Excellence:
- Lead and develop HR team to deliver efficient, scalable, and high-impact HR services.
- Leverage HR analytics and systems to drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement.
- Manage HR budget and external vendor relationships.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with significant exposure to manufacturing plant operations, Technology, commercial/corporate environments
- Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, statutory requirements, and industrial relations.
- Proven experience in leading HR strategy, change management, and organizational transformation.
- Track record of building strong relationships with senior leaders, unions, and employees at all levels.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a matrixed, multinational environment.
