Belden is seeking a highly strategic, technically astute, and commercially savvy Director of Go-to-Market (GTM) Content and Strategy to join our Innovation Strategy & Operations team. This pivotal role will bridge deep technical expertise with market insight to craft compelling value propositions and comprehensive go-to-market strategies for Belden's innovative and emerging products and solutions. 

You will be responsible for translating complex technical features of our networking, security, IT/OT, and industrial data communication offerings into clear, impactful, and customer-centric narratives. A key aspect of this role will be leading Belden's technical education and certification programs, ensuring our internal teams, partners, and customers are expertly trained and certified on our advanced technologies. Reporting into the Innovation function, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical and market narrative for both existing and nascent technologies, guiding Product Line Managers (PLMs), Solution Line Managers (SLMs), and innovation teams in developing messaging that resonates with diverse technical and business personas, ultimately accelerating the commercialization of Belden's next generation of offerings. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic GTM Content & Positioning: 

  • Develop and refine value propositions and ideal customer profiles for nascent technologies, innovative solutions, and new business models emerging from Belden's innovation pipeline. 

  • Drive the narrative for Belden's innovation initiatives, translating complex R&D and technical capabilities into clear, customer-centric stories that highlight future value, market disruption, and differentiation. 

  • Serve as a coach and mentor to PLMs, SLMs, and innovation teams, helping them simplify and sharpen market messaging for both established and emerging offerings. 

  • Translate complex technical capabilities into customer-centric narratives that drive engagement and differentiation across various market segments. 

  • Technical Education & Certification Program Leadership: 

  • Lead the strategy, design, development, and delivery of Belden's technical education and certification programs (e.g., 101–201–301 portfolio). 

  • Ensure these programs are world-class, scalable, and effectively equip internal teams, partners, and customers with the knowledge and skills required for Belden's networking, security, IT/OT, and edge computing solutions. 

  • Drive the technical education engine – from design to production, delivery, and reporting – ensuring the certification portfolio is continuously updated to reflect new technologies and market needs. 

  • Technical Marketing Leadership: 

  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of high-quality technical marketing content, including whitepapers, application notes, solution briefs, competitive analysis, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and architectural guides. 

  • Develop clear, concise, and impactful technical messaging that articulates the unique value and differentiation of Belden's solutions to various technical personas (e.g., engineers, architects, IT managers, OT specialists). 

  • Conduct in-depth technical competitive analysis, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and market opportunities to inform product development, marketing strategies, and sales enablement. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Enablement: 

  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Product/Solution Management, Corporate Marketing, Sales, and Strategic Partnerships to ensure message-market fit for new offerings and align GTM strategies for successful incubation and launch. 

  • Partner with Sales Enablement to create and deliver technical training, tools, and resources for sales teams, channel partners, and system integrators, empowering them to effectively position and sell Belden's complex solutions. 

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product/Solution Management to ensure the technical accuracy and integrity of all content. 

  • Align with Regional Marketing teams on localization and audience-specific adaptations of content and messaging. 

  • Thought Leadership: 

  • Represent Belden as a technical expert and thought leader at industry events, webinars, and customer engagements, delivering presentations and contributing to technical discussions on emerging trends.

  • Value proposition frameworks and messaging architecture for Belden's innovation portfolio. 

  • Coaching methodology for PLMs, SLMs, and innovation teams on market messaging and commercialization. 

  • Ideal customer profiles and segmentation strategies for future markets and new customer segments. 

  • Technical content strategy and editorial calendar, with a strong focus on innovation narratives and future-state visions. 

  • Product- and solution-specific GTM strategies for new and emerging offerings. 

  • Competitive positioning and differentiation narratives for disruptive solutions. 

  • Belden's technical education and certification program strategy and execution. 

  • Technical sales enablement tools and training programs. 

  • The technical voice and narrative for Belden's innovation initiatives. 

Success Metrics: 

  • Message Resonance: Engagement rates, win/loss feedback, and market perception for new and innovative solutions. 

  • Content Performance: Downloads, shares, lead conversions, and positive feedback on technical marketing assets. 

  • Sales Enablement Effectiveness: Sales team confidence, usage of technical tools, and contribution to sales pipeline/wins for new offerings. 

  • Technical Education & Certification Impact: Completion rates, participant satisfaction, demonstrated knowledge transfer, and positive impact on sales and partner capabilities. 

  • Time-to-Message: For new product/solution launches and innovation milestones. 

  • PLM/SLM/Innovation Team Satisfaction: And adoption of coaching frameworks for new ventures. 

  • Innovation Narrative Impact: Engagement with thought leadership content, media mentions, and industry recognition for Belden's innovation. 

  • Commercialization Readiness: Contribution to the successful transition of innovative concepts from R&D to market-ready solutions. 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: 

  • 15+ years in technical marketing, product marketing, or a related strategic role within the networking, security, IT/OT, or industrial data communication industries. 

  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful GTM strategies and content initiatives for new product introductions, emerging technologies, or innovation commercialization. 

  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and managing technical education and certification programs. 

  • Experience working with early-stage products, ventures, or incubation teams is highly desirable. 

  • Technical Expertise: 

  • Deep technical acumen and hands-on experience with products and solutions related to: 

  • Networking: Industrial Ethernet, switches, routers, enterprise networking, wireless technologies, access points. 

  • Security: Cybersecurity for IT/OT environments, network security, industrial control system (ICS) security, data privacy. 

  • IT/OT Convergence: Strong understanding of IT and OT architectures, protocols, challenges, and integration strategies. 

  • Industrial Data Communication: Fieldbus technologies, industrial protocols (e.g., PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA), data acquisition, edge computing, protocol conversion gateways. 

  • Ability to understand complex technologies and translate them into clear, compelling customer benefits and market narratives. 

  • Skills: 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong portfolio of technical marketing content. 

  • Outstanding storytelling, presentation, and public speaking abilities, comfortable engaging diverse audiences from engineers to executives. 

  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and influence cross-functional teams. 

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct market research, competitive analysis, and identify future market trends. 

  • Highly collaborative, with a track record of working effectively across R&D, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. 

  • Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or a related technical field is required. 

  • Master's degree (MBA or technical) is preferred. 

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $160,000 - $200,000 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role.  This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
