Job Summary:

In a Material Handler role, you will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where the following duties will be completed; keeping work stations fully stocked and kitted up with the required materials, thus controlling the continuous flow of productivity. The Material Handler role is a key position that impacts manufacturing productivity. They must be intimately knowledgeable in all of the processes, materials, and tools they manage.  On a regular rotation the Material Handler travels from workstation to workstation constantly checking in. Assurance that the production schedule continues to flow and at all times without interruption to ensure daily on-time targets and delivery expectations are met. Inventory management and a high attention to detail is essential to the success of the Material Handler.

Responsibilities:

Material Handler responsibilities will include the following;

  • Maintain manufacturing material inventory and non-managed material kanbans then communicates re-order points to buyers.
  • Verify the physical receipt of goods against production work orders.
  • Upon receipt of goods ensure proper stocking is completed; determine proper, safe storage methods, identification, and stock location; sort, label, and shelf raw material.
  • Count, inspect and prepare all parts to go out to subcontractor; example: material for powder coating, etc.
  • Supports the separation, kitting, and receiving of incoming material between: production, finished goods, RMA, office, and deliver to appropriate person/areas.
  • Maintain all office supplies and re-order points. Verifies the receipt of all office supplies and ensures proper stocking to support office 5S activities.
  • Ability to learn and participate in lean manufacturing training and Lean Daily Management (LDM).
  • Support and maintain lean manufacturing practices.
  • Assist in 5S and lean activities as required. Identify and assist in process improvement measures (includes plant Continuous Improvement efforts).

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Heavy lifting may be required (No more than 45 pounds)
  • Experience/familiarity with working in an ESD environment
