Job Summary

 

The Indirect Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for the support of the global strategic sourcing strategies for the following categories: Plant and Facility Industrial Products and Services, Material Handling Equipment, MRO and other materials and services to support Belden’s business in our PPC locations. This position requires an exceptional ability to develop relationships across the organization as well as with key suppliers to the company and to communicate effectively with leaders at all levels and global counterparts. Ideally, this position would be located in Syracuse NY.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Working with the plant operation team to identify and execute cost savings initiatives
  • Analyze spend data, supplier performance, and market trends to identify cost savings and value creation opportunities
  • Support global commodity strategies to deliver:  Targeted reductions in year-over-year cost, support global CAPEX strategy, supplier onboarding. Support the identification and associated mitigation plans for pricing inflation and high-risk factors that may impact total cost or assurance of supply
  • Assist in the following: developing successful supplier relationships for assigned commodities, creating and negotiating supplier contracts or pricing agreements, managing all facets of supplier management activities for assigned commodities, and completing regular supplier performance assessments
  • Contribute to the savings and performance targets of the Global Indirect Procurement team.
  • Responsible for leading supplier annual business reviews and development activities related to suppliers in areas of responsibility
  • Participates and/or leads cross-functional teams, actively shares knowledge with others, and exhibits leadership to encourage adoption of procurement practices
  • Communicates regional requirements, strategies and goal achievement to regional and global leadership
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, business or related fields.
  • Five years of relevant experience in indirect procurement or strategic sourcing.
  • Proven experience managing categories such as MRO, Facilities, etc.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and project management skills.
  • Proficient in procurement systems and tools (Zycus, SAP, Coupa, Ariba or similar)
  • Excellent communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $86,000-108,000, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role.  This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
