This co-op provides the opportunity to design next generation products for a global organization, while being encouraged and measured on their ability to be innovative and contribute to design ideas. This co-op position will take place over the Spring - summer or summer - fall of 2026 and is located in Syracuse, NY. A housing stipend may be eligible for candidates who will need to relocate for the position. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

You will make an impact in the following way:

• Assist with design and development of patented connector technology and other related products within the telecommunications industry.
• Work on and manage projects from the ideation/conception phase through production.
• Develop and manage 3D models and engineering drawings utilizing SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM software. Participate in product design reviews as needed.
• Utilize 3D rapid prototyping or machining tools to create prototypes.
• Test mechanical and electrical properties to ensure quality and reliability.

What you will bring:

• Education - currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
• Knowledge/ Skills - familiarity of SolidWorks or other CAD Programs
• Knowledge/ Skills -machining principles and various engineering materials

Applicants can expect a compensation range of $23-28/hour and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
