Job Summary:
Primary responsibility is new R&D of Wire and Cable products in conjunction with sales, product management and customer requests. The function works very closely with the cost, process and industrial engineering functions and the Director of R&D, to ensure the correctness, viability, cost effectiveness of designs and costs into the cost and manufacturing systems. This role can be based out of our Indianapolis, IN or Richmond, IN facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Identify new product ideas, their potential and practicality to the Belden business model
- Coordinate all stages of product planning and development in concert with Product Managers and the Director of R&D. This includes marketing and sales objectives, financial, engineering, and manufacturing issues inorder to ensure the successful introduction of products to the market. This will be achieved through the judicious development of projects, timelines, procedures and milestones to meet introduction dates on new products
- Orchestrate the launch of new products in coordination with Product Management and Sales initiatives and duties.
Required Skills and Experience
- Exceptional PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Word, Access, Visio, etc.)
- Ability to comprehend and modify (conceptually) 'in house' computer systems
- Very high technical aptitude
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, plane and solid geometry as well as trigonometry and engineering level mathematics
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions inmathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
