Bid Engineer

You will make an impact in the following way:

  • Project Assessment: Review project requirements, specifications, and drawings with experts to understand the scope of work and deliverables.
  • Risk Assessment: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify potential risks, challenges, and constraints associated with the project and propose mitigation strategies to ensure successful execution.
  • Cost Estimation: Evaluate project costs by analyzing materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors. 
  • Supplier/Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather quotations and evaluate their capabilities for inclusion in the bid.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: By working closely with our legal, technical and product organizations, you ensure the proposal is compliant from a technical, legal and commercial perspective. 
  • Proposal Development: From answering the first tender until the contract award, you work with the supporting functions required and ensure that the proposal is optimized in all aspects. Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to create detailed proposals and bid documents that meet client needs and align with company standards.
  • Bid Presentation: Present proposals to clients, participate in client meetings, and provide technical support to the sales team during negotiations and contract discussions. 

 

What you will bring:

  • Education - Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in the direction of Technical Business Administration, Engineering or similar
  • You combine commercial and technical insight with a strong drive to win
  • Technical Knowledge -  Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methodologies, and relevant industry standards.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation techniques, project management concepts, and technical writing.
  • Analytical Skills -  Ability to analyze project requirements, evaluate costs, and identify potential risks or challenges. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Project Management experience - You can handle multiple bids simultaneously whilst ensuring a swift turnaround.
  • Language - Excellent English written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information, proposals, and presentations.
  • Team player - Strong team player who is able to interact with multiple clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
