As Project Buyer, you are responsible for the selection, contracting, and performance management of suppliers. Your focus will be on suppliers that provide project-specific materials and services, primarily in the telecom and datacommunication domains.

In your role, you will balance cost, performance, and risk, while also considering legal and environmental requirements. You will develop and drive continuous improvement of suppliers and support the local project-oriented business at the Belden Olen site, while collaborating with the global Belden procurement team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Find, select, and contract new suppliers and products/services
  • Monitor supplier performance and initiate improvement actions as needed
  • Lead resolution of escalation issues related to suppliers
  • Ensure suppliers continuously improve in terms of cost, lead times, and flexibility
  • Maintain close contact with project managers and bid managers to understand business needs
  • Ensure required master data is available for operational procurement

• Ensuring reliable and cost-effective sourcing of project-specific materials and services
• Improving supplier performance and responsiveness
• Reducing procurement risks through strategic supplier selection
• Supporting project success through close collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Driving supplier innovation and continuous improvement

 

What you will bring:

Strategic procurement experience – At least 5 years of experience as a strategic buyer
Educational background – Master in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or Bachelor with relevant experience
Negotiation skills – Strong negotiating skills and ability to manage supplier relationships
Technical knowledge – Basic knowledge of telecom and datacommunication
Communication – Fluent in Dutch and English, assertive, and a good communicator
Digital proficiency – Proficient in MS Office tools
