We are looking for a full-time employee for Belden's Global R&D department as a User Experience Designer. This position is located in Application Software Development. As an UX Designer, you will be at the heart of Belden's new cloud-based software platform with exciting internal and external responsibilities.

 

You will make an impact in the following way:  

 

  • Pioneering spirit and innovation: You will work on forward-looking innovation projects to design the next generation of products and services.
  • Analyze and design: You will independently analyze product and user requirements and create compelling interactions. You will create unique user experiences by creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, and information architectures.
  • User-centered design: You will focus on users when designing user interactions with our industrial network software products, from concept to end product.
  • Teamwork and collaboration: You will work in a team with UX designers and be part of interdisciplinary agile development teams worldwide.
  • Usability tests and interviews: You support the planning and implementation of development-accompanying usability tests, qualitative interviews, and their evaluations.
  • Concept development and presentation: You will work closely with product management to develop new concepts and actively present and contribute UX recommendations.
  • Support for product development: You will support the product development teams in implementing your UX concepts and design system components.
  • Introduction of new software and processes: You will support the introduction of new software, tools, and processes.

 

What you will bring:  

 

  • Education: You have a university degree or equivalent training or further education with a focus on user experience design, interaction design, or communication design.
  • Professional experience: You have at least 3 years of professional experience in the design of interactive systems.
  • Expertise: You have in-depth knowledge in the areas of user experience design, user interface design, user-centered development processes, and ideally user research.
  • Technical understanding: You have a deep understanding of technically complex systems, ideally in the areas of industrial networks, IoT, Industry 4.0, and industrial software.
  • Team spirit and initiative: You are a team player with a high degree of independence and initiative, and you are goal- and solution-oriented.
  • Design and prototyping tools: You are confident in using design and prototyping tools (Figma and Adobe CC).
  • Working style: You work in a solution-oriented and data-driven manner.
  • Communication skills: Perseverance, communication skills, and business fluent English and Dutch complete your profile.
