Belden is seeking an experienced Channel Sales Director to develop and manage channel strategy for sales of Belden products to distribution partners.  This position will develop channel sales action plans for markets including Telco, CATV, utilities, Muni, government, and Retail.

 

You will make an impact in the following way:

  • Establish and maintain senior level contacts at all distribution accounts.  Evaluate distributors to determine their fit within Belden channel management strategy.
  • Ensure distributors are trained and ready to sell our products.
  • Provide leadership for the distribution sales and special market business development team.
  • Be an advocate for distribution within Belden and ensure that our Sales team can effectively interface with partners.
  • Ensure that appropriate reports are generated showing both direct sales to distributors and POS data for our end customers.
  • Generate opportunity for Belden products with major service provider accounts and markets.  Determine market size, target share, and most appropriate sales organization to attack.
  • Interface with Business Units to develop new products or modify existing products to support sales to all markets.
  • Establish priorities and assign resources to effectively cover all assigned account and market responsibilities.
  • Establish channel policies that maximize the potential sales opportunities associated with using different ways to access the market.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical area, business administration or marketing; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of sales, sales management, and business development experience selling industrial products both direct and through distribution channels, or a combination of experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.

 

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $135,000 - 150,000 annually plus a sales incentive plan, and benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role.  This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
