Job Summary:

 

The Global Category Manager - IT is required to serve as the subject matter expert for the Global IT Category and support the procurement of hardware and software for Belden. As the Global Category Manager - IT, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize costs and drive value within the IT category across our global operations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure alignment with business objectives, mitigate risks, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Director, Global Indirect Procurement.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the Category Management Process 
  • Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for IT procurement, including hardware, software, services, and telecom
  • Reviews spend analytics data to aggregate demand for sourcing events and supplier consolidation
  • Conduct supplier assessments for assigned categories with key suppliers
  • Stay current on market research and industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT procurement, incorporating insights into category strategies
  • Lead the Strategic Sourcing Process
  • Prepare and execute complex RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and reverse auctions, as well as, associated deep financial analysis, category benchmarks, trend analysis, and presentation of formal recommendations to senior executives
  • Provide the leadership for developing successful supplier relationships for assigned categories, create and negotiate supplier contracts or pricing agreements with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and/or Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Work in a team environment and align negotiation strategies with corporate strategies, goals and objectives
  • Deliver annual savings in alignment to performance targets and Belden objectives
  • Maintain sourcing templates to optimize the sourcing process
  • Maintain action plans weekly; track and report savings on a monthly basis to Senior Leadership Team for assigned categories/sourcing projects
  • Drive Procurement Transformation
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout of the indirect supply chain by supporting the implementation of various procurement systems, BPro (Zycus)and SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 


Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA or advanced certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM)preferred
  • 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on IT Category Management and/or SoftwareContract Management within a global organization
  • Strong negotiations skills necessary to seek appropriate cost, quality, delivery and terms
  • Experience with operating in an international business environment including working jointly with colleagues internationally to collaborate on strategy development and project management is preferred
  • Experience working with procurement application software; such as, Zycus, Ariba, Coupa,SAP etc. with a high degree of proficiency
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Position will require up to 10% travel for supplier visits, conferences/seminars
