Job Summary

 

As member of Belden’s Technical Solutions & Services Team (TSS), the Solution Consultant (SC) is responsible for developing Network Solutions enabling Data Orchestration and Management (DOM) in OT/IT environments.  Solutions are developed from Belden’s extensive portfolio of industrial or enterprise switching, routing, network management, data analytics and cybersecurity products.  The SC works with sales and other interdisciplinary team members to understand customer application requirements, and provides consulting technical support to map the Belden solutions into our customers’ operational and networking challenges.  The SC leads the solution development with the client, seeking acceptance of the design and expected operational or financial impact to their business.  Upon customer acceptance of design and value of the solution, the SC may lead Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) at our Customer Innovation Center (CIC) Validation Lab or at customer’s site.  The SC is responsible for advising, Sales, Commercial Operations and PMO Teams on their Scope and Design, and successful handoff to Belden’s execution functions.  The solution consultant is a technical partner to product management functions, providing insights on Customer Trends, Product or Capability Gaps, and Successful Customer Outcomes.. The SC’s rich experience developing and implementing Networking Solutions supporting Data Orchestration and Management will accelerate the credibility of Belden as a solution provider for Networking & Data Solutions applications.  Successful candidates will facilitate collaboration, teamwork, and communication, acting as the pivot point among the internal and external participants of a project opportunity.
 
 Job Accountabilities
•    Lead and manage the development of solutions that utilize hardware products, cables, and connectivity from our Belden brands. Incorporate third party or eco-partner products as required and necessary
•    Define project requirements, map Belden solutions to solve customers’ needs, perform network or data architecture design and document the technical proposal including system network topology and bill of materials 
•    Define scope of services (Belden Provided or 3rd Party) for customer applications in collaboration with the TSS Services team
•    Partner with TSS counterparts to translate customer requirements and problem statements into compelling technical solutions with demonstrable financial value impact
•    Collaborate with Customer Innovation Center solution support team to conduct POCs.
•    Facilitate a successful transition from design acceptance / POC to execution phase with Commercial Operations and Project Management Office Functions 
•    Support and drive technical sales and solutions for customer applications by providing the technical leadership influence in assigned vertical market
•    Receive onboarding and maintain competence with ALL Belden brands and products
•    Actively support technology campaigns such as webinars, shows, trade fairs, etc. where network design expertise helps accelerate customer acceptance of Belden as a solution provider for network and data solutions
•    Provide technical content for to marketing for inclusion in marketing materials, and collaterals and solutions guides
•    Provide supporting documentation for application notes, “how to” or quick start guides or cases studies
•    Maintain customer reporting, designs and other artifacts using prescribed tools and systems
•    Provide market feedback to product management teams to drive product development
•    Travel as required for customer visits and professional development (expected 70% of travel)

 

Education & Experience
•    5 to 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, maintaining and / or managing networking switching and routing equipment for wired and wireless applications of Ethernet based technologies. ;Previous experience in OT Networks is preferred.
•    Experience commissioning or Integrating Systems or Software delivering Data Orchestration or Protection (i.e. ZTNA, NAC, Cybersecurity)
•    Bachelor’s Engineering degree preferred with a focus on automation, networking and Ethernet based communications
•    Network credentials similar to Hirschmann HiSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JCNIA, ECS or similar from Network Equipment Manufacturers
•    Experience working with cross functional teams, including Solution Architects, Solution Line Management, Product Development, Automation Consultants, Sales, Marketing and or Product Development
•    Experience in cloud based systems, edge computing, virtual machines, and hybrid connectivity preferred
•    Having Previous consulting experience is preferred

•    Demonstrate the ability to translate complex or technical Network with a non-technical stakeholders
•    Demonstrate solid knowledge and understanding of key technology and market trends, and competitors’ solutions
•    Demonstrate analytical skills and the ability to work within a metric driven environment
•    Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced work environment
•    Demonstrate a pro-active, flexible, and pragmatic approach

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $120,000 to $160,000, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role.  This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
