Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager is a highly influential and results-driven leader, pivotal in shaping and executing the project management strategy. This role demands exceptional leadership in orchestrating a diverse portfolio of complex initiatives, spanning both customer-facing solutions and critical internal improvements. You will drive process excellence, assist in mentoring and developing a high-performing team of Project Specialists and Project Managers, and champion best practices across the entire project management organization. Your ability to lead cross-functional teams and exert strategic influence will be key to success in this dynamic, growth-oriented position.
What you will do
- Project Management
- Lead the full project lifecycle for a variety of complex projects, including:
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinating necessary resources and managing vendor relationships.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and resolving issues.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required Belden quality standards.
- Conducting regular project status meetings with stakeholders and leadership (Sr Director and above).
- Preparing and presenting project reports, presentations, and executive summaries.
- Providing leadership and direction to achieve project goals through management, communication, and ownership of projects.
- Promoting behavior-based safety in execution of project. Ensuring applicable rules, controls and training requirements are met. Model and encourage safe work habits.
- Liaise between client, solution consultants, solution engineers and subcontractor personnel to ensure safe, timely, and profitable outcome.
- Identifying and securing necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.
- Utilizing extensive knowledge of basic engineering fundamentals and practices to track and budget progress with project milestones.
- Driving consensus and commitment across diverse stakeholder groups, leveraging strong influencing skills to navigate complex organizational dynamics and achieve project objectives.
- Provide strategic project management support and expertise to other departments as needed, fostering a project-centric culture across the organization.
- Lead the full project lifecycle for a variety of complex projects, including:
- Stakeholder & Client Relationship Management
- Strategic Client Partnership: Build and sustain robust, strategic relationships with clients, ensuring their utmost satisfaction and successful project outcomes.
- Primary Client Liaison: Serve as the principal point of contact for clients on all project-related matters, demonstrating exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive Issue Resolution: Proactively identify, address, and resolve client concerns and issues, maintaining strong client trust and loyalty.
- Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Play a critical role in assisting the Senior Director in defining, developing, and implementing cutting-edge project management strategies and best practices across the PMO.
- Champion process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen, identifying and implementing efficiencies that enhance project delivery and team productivity.
- Conduct rigorous analysis of project performance data to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead the development and standardization of project management tools, templates, and methodologies to enhance consistency and effectiveness.
- Strategic Succession & Leadership Backup: Act as a direct backup to the Senior Director, representing the department at crucial leadership meetings and contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Play a critical role in assisting the Senior Director in defining, developing, and implementing cutting-edge project management strategies and best practices across the PMO.

What you will bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and extensive experience.
- PMP Certification is required.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in managing complex capital projects, with a strong preference for experience in industrial networking and/or automation.
- Demonstrated mastery of the interdependencies and impact of manufacturing operational processes, including Procurement, Scheduling, Quality, and Engineering.
- Proven track record as a strategic thinker and planner.
- Exceptional success as a contributing leader within high-performing Project Teams.
- Highly self-motivated with extensive experience navigating and thriving in large, matrixed corporate environments.
- Demonstrated expertise and practical experience in applying process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement frameworks.
- Thorough understanding of advanced Project Management principles, methods, and techniques, with the ability to expertly utilize tools like Smartsheet for milestones, progress management, and Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis.
- Proficient in essential project control and administration software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Extensive experience with leading project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or similar platforms.
Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $116,900-$175,300 plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
