Job Summary:
Belden’s Solutions Technician is a key member of our service delivery team. Focused on supporting internal and external customers by gathering key information, generating service proposals, scheduling qualified resources, and managing the service projects through completion. Reporting to the Solution Services Manager, you will work closely with our Solution Consultants and Engineers to address our customers’ business needs. The Solutions Technician also assists in managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) whether part of a full solution or as a standalone agreement.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Liaison between client, technical/engineering departments, field and subcontractor personnel. Onsite and remote focal point for managing technical points between company (Belden) and customer, contractors, all-encompassing vendors, etc.
  • Answer preliminary questions and navigate which Service Engineers to bring onboard, in order to keep the Services processes moving forward.
  • Generate and review Service Proposals, Quotes, Budgetary Estimates and SLA’s for incoming service initiatives. Track and revise accordingly as new information become present within a service/project.
  • Review, track, maintain Services project funnel
  • Part of technical team for internal weekly/monthly ‘Pulse Calls’ for customers who have active SLA’s.
  • Central point for all Technical communication of internal and external parties, coordinating internal resources and vendors for effective execution of projects. 
  • Support Services Plan and Schedule, implement internally and externally. Harmonize internal technical resources and third-party vendors. 
  • Part of team for technical review of vendor selection, pricing negotiation and subcontractor services.
  • Able to simultaneously support multiple Services jobs and accommodate to internal and external customer requirements. 
  • Part of technical team meeting with customers to outline their expectations for a service initiative/project.
  • Conceptualize and develop internal processes, procedures, templates and documents to enable the team in delivering quality services/ support outstanding service delivery. 
  • Analyze internal processes and create strategies for service delivery optimization
  • Train internal teams in Services / SLA processes and offerings
  • Define and implement measures to oversee service quality, capacity and availability, including monitoring and delivery reports
  • Assist in onboarding and maintaining collaborative relationships with service partners
  • Basic knowledge in Belden industrial brands Hirschmann, Belden, Lumberg, Tofino, etc. Understanding of how our devices perform, work, what is needed, etc.
  • Maintain service collateral repository on global shared systems
  • Assist to navigate and track key points outlined in SLA and communicate all status communications in order to provide the best support and execution of SLA. Request resources changes when needed.

 

Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in solution creation in an industrial automation networking environment or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus on automation and Ethernet-based communications or equivalent
  • Experience within a sales and service role in an industrial automation market.

 

Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of Request for Quote (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), and proposal generation procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and understand their needs. 
  • Proficiency in preparing detailed technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the networking or telecommunications industry. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
