Job Summary:

 

This role performs routine and emergency maintenance for the wire and cable manufacturing equipment and testing equipment. The primary duties are skilled tasks in the service on equipment requiring a broad knowledge of mechanics, machine design, pipefitting, light carpentry, millwright skills, and machining processes. The role also performs installation and relocation; fabrication, and assembly of components, devices, and machinery so that a quality product can be produced in our R&D production setting.

 


Responsibilities:

 

 

  1. Operates, revises, and performs maintenance of the systems for all the facility's equipment, labs, typical industrial machine shop, and maintenance equipment.
  2. Completes routinely scheduled preventative maintenance and inspection activities. Maintains records of work performed. Assist with calibration of measurement devices.
  3. Troubleshoot problems to corrective actions on new and existing equipment. Orders and organizes parts, tools, or other items needed. Works with field service technicians, contractors, and engineers for facility, production, or lab testing equipment as needed.
  4. Assist with typical Millwright activities and utilities for installation and/or equipment relocation within this facility plus packaging and rigging for transportation to/from other locations. Fabricates weldments and performs welding operations for machine repair, modifications, or prototype devices.
  5. Performs various precision machining operations. Performs assembly operations to produce parts, subassemblies, and complete units. Utilizes computer aided and simpler related machine tools when appropriate to produce intricate parts. Program new partoutlines on the CAD/CAM software and sets up machining operations.
  6. Communicates effectively and collaboratively with maintenance peers, process technicians and various engineering roles as needed for repairs, improvements, or changes in set ups or equipment.
  7. Organizes work schedule to efficiently and cost effectively meet completion dates with little or no direction from others and within our work order system.

 

 

 

Required Experience:

  1. Technical college degree in skilled industrial trades or related on-the-job apprenticeship continuing education programs with a high school diploma. Testing may be required.
  2. A candidate must have a minimum of 4 years multi-skilled industrial maintenance experience and/or equivalent education. Additionally,
    • 2 years# machinist or toolmaker experience in related fields is strongly preferred.
    • 1 year experience facilities maintenance experience is a plus.

Required Skills:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of the operation of industrial machine tools and manufacturing equipment.o
    • Training and experience in equipment riggingand millwright work is a plus.
    • Training and experience in preventative and/or predictive maintenance is a plus.
  2. Proficient knowledge in all industrial mechanical trades, i.e. machining, millwright, pipe fitting, carpentry, welding, etc.
  3. Strong industrial troubleshooting and machine diagnostic skills.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CAD/CAM CNC software, and SolidWorks CAD is strongly preferred.

Other Requirements:

  1. Written and oral fluency in English.
  2. Must be able to operate material handling equipment and hold valid powered industrial fork trucker's and state driver's licenses.
  3. Must be capable of complying with Company Attendance Policy and conceal confidentialinformation per a signed NDA.
  4. Be willing to learn new skills while working in a safe and professional manner, alone or as part of a team in a responsible and participatory role to complete assigned work.
