This is for an off shift position.
Job Summary:
Responsible for operating and maintaining plastic extruding equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Personally responsible for the safety of self and others in their work area
Handles hazardous waste according to all Federal, State, and Local regulations as provided by the Plant and EHS Manager
Analyzes product attributes and determines process adjustments to bring product to spec if necessary in a continuous process that contains many variables
Participates in the quality improvement process as it relates to the extrusion operation and the use of the product produced
Responsible for the proper manufacture of the product specified
Performs inspection and records the product data as required
Involved in the continuing process to improve product and process quality
Complies with joint decisions and follows through as a team player
Completes equipment/product set-ups
Sets up and runs various auxiliary equipment as required
Changes supply and take-up reels
Removes product from the extruder and delivers to a designated area
Maintains tool and auxiliary equipment inventory
Performs various maintenance duties as required by the schedule
Obtains materials from delivery point and services the material needs of the equipment
Cleans machine(s), cleans work area, weighs up scrap and bills back unneeded materials
Orders and bills back material from process and stores
Completes all necessary paper work
Performs all other duties as assigned
Skills:
General Computer Skills
o Specifically the ability to read and comprehend specifications using the computer system and/or hard copy.
General Math Skills
o Specifically the ability to measure product attributes as required by product specifications
Communication Skills
o Specifically you must be able to adequately communicate with others on all shifts.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to write or print clearly and record product data as required
Must be able to perform duties of a minimum of one other job classification in their cell.
Must be able to operate material handling equipment and hold a valid powered industrial truckers license
Must be a team player and play a responsible and participatory role..
