Job Summary:

 

The Sr. Director, Global Solutions Engineering will be responsible for leading the Solutions Engineering and Applications Engineering team, providing direct customer support, including but not limited to managing new product introduction, advanced system integration, legacy product support and technical problem solving in support of Sales.  This position will own the definition and support of solutions for our customers working closely with the Sales and Product Management teams. This role supports the sales process by designing and validating how Belden's diverse products can be integrated to solve a customer's specific, large-scale challenges. 

 

This role provides a remote opportunity, reporting directly to the VP, Product & Innovation, and will work closely with teams across the globe.

 

You will make a difference in the following ways: 

 

  • Design end-to-end system architectures that combine multiple Belden products to meet customer requirements.
  • Build and lead proof-of-concept (POC) demonstrations in a lab or field environment.
  • Provide expert-level technical responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Serve as the highest-level technical resource for the sales team during the pre-sales phase of major projects.
  • Develop and publish reference architectures, whitepapers, and best-practice guides for common solutions.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of global Solutions and Applications Engineers. Fostering global collaboration and learning.

 

 What you bring: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Telecommunications Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a field application engineer , network engineer, or related role, in addition to 5 years’ experience in a  relevant leadership role
  • Minimum 10 years experience working with internet service providers, wireless providers, and/or date center operators
  • Must possess strong decision making and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Provide a remarkable client experience, with the ability to be effective when working with engineers through C suite customers
  • A record of success in developing test processes and performing system integration with multiple platforms and vendors.
  • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on currently deployed platforms, systems and processes
  • Deep understanding of network architectures deployed in optical transport networks, broadband access networks, data centers, and local area networks.
