Job Summary:
The Senior DevOps Engineer will be a stakeholder in application architecture, design, writing code, code review, continuous integration, and deployment. In your day-to-day work, you will coordinate with both Indian and US members.
What you will do:
- You will be responsible for a High-Performance, Scalable, Robust, and Secure Common SaaS Framework based on AWS infrastructure. This framework allows customers to configure, provision, upgrade, and monitor various network functions in carrier-grade enterprise and telecom networks.
- Infrastructure: Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure, focusing on scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Deployment: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust DevOps pipelines to ensure efficient software delivery.
- Observability: Monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and security, proactively troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Automation: Develop tools to automate and improve production support tasks and SRE monitoring for critical systems.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting procedures, system configurations, and resolutions to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of systems and applications, adhere to compliance requirements and implement best practices for data protection.
- Collaboration: Closely collaborate with Developers to set up and configure the necessary infrastructure services to support new feature development.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and promote knowledge sharing within the organization.
What you will bring:
- Bachelors in computer science or equivalent. Preferably a masters degree in computer science.
- 8+years of experience in DevOps and technical competency by delivering builds, pipelines, and mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring the highest availability, performance, and security levels.
- Experience with Cloud-native SaaS development and virtualization technologies, such as AWS, ESXi, KVM, and HyperV, would be a plus.
- Extensive experience in developing distributed system design.
- Preferably experience with microservice architecture, large-scale, and public cloud.
- Strong knowledge of containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Strong knowledge of public cloud technologies (preferably AWS) and on-premises setups.
- Good knowledge of analyzing and troubleshooting backend and frontend applications.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling like Jenkins, etc.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and Bitbucket.
- Experience with IaaC (Infrastructure as a Code) tools like Terraform, CrossPlane, etc.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies. Lead and participate in various scrum ceremonies.
- Good knowledge of observability tools like Kibana, Elastic stack, Prometheus stack, etc.
- Good knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Good knowledge of programming languages Python, Go, etc.
- Effective communication skills - written, spoken, listening, and presentation.
- Great team player with experience working with global teams and global organizations.
Applicants can expect a base compensation range for Bay area candidates $134,200 - $200,000 plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
