This position will be reporting to the Fiber Cable Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be a primary representative for product industrialization within cross-functional teams, ensuring an effective transition from development to manufacturing across North American facilities. Based at our cable plant in Syracuse, NY, you will be responsible for facilitating cooperation between product development, supply chain, manufacturing, and external suppliers. Your focus will be on improving manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment to ensure reliable and efficient production for new product introductions. You will also partner with the quality, production, and maintenance teams to establish procedures, methods, and specifications to ensure product quality standards.

You will make a difference in the following ways:

  • Ensuring the development process is followed for product introductions, qualifications, and releases, confirming that processes and equipment meet the requirements defined during development.
  • Conducting feasibility assessments of cost, material availability, technology, and lead time to evaluate the viability of manufacturing new products.
  • Preparing the Bill of Materials (BOM) and sourcing materials from existing or new vendors and internal suppliers.
  • Defining Inspection and Test Criteria for new products and processes to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Overseeing manufacturing and ramp-up activities at the site to meet targeted performance metrics and capacity, addressing any issues as directed by the manufacturing team.
  • Working with Manufacturing teams to improve processes, tools, and equipment for stable and efficient production of new and existing products.
  • Collaborating with the Supply Chain team to assess supplier capabilities, select the most appropriate suppliers, and manage supplier risks.
  • Assisting manufacturing and quality teams in addressing supplier part quality issues through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

What you bring:

  • A Bachelors degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, or Materials/Controls Engineering/Automation specialization.
  • 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing environments, new product/process industrialization, and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of the fiber cable extrusion process and project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, failure mode avoidance, and process controls (DFM).
  • Strong communication skills in English; Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships across internal teams and external suppliers with a focused and outcome-oriented approach.
  • Expected domestic and international travel - 50% international travel to Parham, UK during first year.

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $85,200 - $127,800 plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role.  This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting.
