Job Summary:

 

As Product Industrialization Engineer, you are the representative of product industrialization in multi-disciplinary teams ensuring best in class transition from development to manufacturing across our North American manufacturing facilities.

 

You will be located onsite at the Tucson, AZ Plant - FTC. 

 

You will be working on Manufacturing Transfer as well as New Product Introduction Projects. Driving cross-functional collaboration between product development, supply chain, manufacturing, and external suppliers to ensure alignment of requirements of new products. Developing and improving processes, tools and equipment of the Manufacturing systems leading to predictable, reliable, stable and efficient production processes for new product introductions. Support Quality, Production and Maintenance teams to create procedures, methods and specifications where Engineering support is required.



Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure adherence to the applicable development process for product introductions, qualifications and release.
  • Accountable for validating the process and equipment capabilities meets requirements identified during the Development stage.
  • Conduct feasibility analysis for making the product in terms of cost, material availability, technology availability and lead time.
  • Prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM's) for the product and source the materials from the existing/new vendors or internal suppliers.
  • Accountable for establishing Inspection and Test Criteria for new components and assemblies.
  • Monitor manufacturing & ramp up at the site to targeted yields, capacity and solve performance attributes as directed by Mfg.
  • Develop presentations to effectively communicate progress and results in reference to Industrialization initiatives.


Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Mechanics or Materials specialization a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of small parts fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Minimum of 5-7 Years experience associated with manufacturing environments, new product/process industrialization and implementation.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Solid Works, or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Hands on Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode Avoidance and Process Controls DFM
