Are you an independent and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of procurement processes? Do you have experience with RFQ’s, negotiating, ordering, invoice handling, and goods flow management, and do you enjoy working in a supportive role within an internationally operating procurement department? Then we are looking for you!
What will you be doing?
Join our EMEA Strategic Procurement Mechanics team as a Junior Strategic Buyer and take an active role in shaping our procurement activities. In this position, you will support project-related purchasing, manage a dedicated commodity portfolio, and contribute to process improvements. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, collaborate across teams, and develop your expertise in strategic procurement within an international environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Drive procurement activities for projects and assigned commodities
Implement procurement strategies, request and evaluate quotations based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), lead supplier negotiations, and ensure competitive pricing. - Manage contracts and supplier relationships
Oversee framework agreements for the EMEA Mechanics Procurement Team and collaborate closely with R&D, material management, finance, and operations to align on project and commodity actions. - Maintain accurate data and ensure material availability
Update raw material master data in ERP systems (SAP/BPCS) and guarantee timely copper supply through the Copper Tolling process. - Coordinate intercompany processes and customer requests
Handle intercompany setup for finished products (DAT) and act as the main contact for the Customer Request Team to fulfill special requirements. - Manage inventory and scrap processes
Administer consignment and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) orders for the cable business and oversee scrap handling related to copper and cable production waste. - Support financial and compliance activities
Process supplier complaints, coordinate credit notes with warehouse and finance, and serve as the primary point of contact for customs and compliance topics within EMEA Mechanics. - Drive continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration
Lead initiatives to optimize procurement processes and ensure strong connectivity between entities within the Mechanics and Cables procurement teams across EMEA.
What do you bring?
- MBO+ level education (Intermediate vocational education or higher), preferably in procurement or supply chain management.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, including financial handling from material ordering to invoice payment.
- Ability to work independently with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong team player, capable of effective collaboration within a multi-site environment.
- Proficient in MS Office and experienced with ERP systems.
- Excellent command of Dutch (spoken and written).
- Good command of English and German (spoken and written)
