The Payroll Accountant ensures the timely and accurate processing of payroll for all employees across multiple entities within Belden in several countries. This role involves compiling data, calculating pay, handling deductions, maintaining payroll records in compliance with applicable laws, and managing payroll reports. The Payroll Accountant works closely with the HR team for input, while maintaining the payroll subledger and ensuring compliance with tax laws, labor regulations, and SOX requirements. Additionally, the role involves supporting the business with updates on financial compensation impacts, such as tax implications and benefits, and is in direct contact with local payroll providers. You will report to the Accounting Manager EMEA with a dotted line to the Human Resource Department.

 

You will make an impact in the following way:


• Ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for multiple countries.
• Processing wages, salaries, bonuses, overtime, and handling tax deductions.
• Ensuring compliance with local laws, SOX regulations, and internal audit requirements.
• Managing payroll reports, reconciliations, and assisting with payroll tax filings.
• Handling employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and payroll-related matters.

 

What you will bring:


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance – Relevant degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
Payroll Expertise – Extensive experience with payroll processes and working with external payroll providers in a global setting.
Attention to Detail – Strong organizational skills and accuracy in handling payroll-related tasks.
Compliance Knowledge – In-depth understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and labor laws.
Analytical Skills – Advanced skills in ERP and Excel for analyzing data across different HR and payroll systems.
Communication Skills – Proficiency in English is a must; Dutch is a big plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills to handle employee inquiries and collaborate with internal teams.
